1) IS LYLA'S BLEND® RIGHT FOR ME?
Yes.
Lylas Blend® is concentrated, so how much you use makes a
difference.
You don't need to apply it like a conventional cream. Start
with a small amount, warm it between your fingertips and allow your skin to
guide you.
Some people naturally prefer more; others need very little.
There is no prize for using more skincare.
Use what your skin needs, with intent.
Yes.
Mature skin often appreciates a richer, nourishing texture,
but I don't believe skincare should be divided into rigid age categories.
Skin changes with time, hormones, environment, lifestyle and
the seasons.
Lylas Blend® was created for skin that feels it needs more
nourishment, softness and comfort, whatever your age.
Everyone's skin is different.
Lylas Blend® contains naturally
aromatic essential oils, so if your skin is particularly sensitive or reactive,
patch testing before first use is important.
Start with a small amount and
see how your skin responds.
If you already know that you are
sensitive to any of the ingredients, check the full ingredient list before use.
02) ONE BLEND, MANY WAYS TO USE IT
Start with a small amount.
Warm it gently between your fingertips, take a moment with
the aroma, then press and massage it into your skin.
Many customers naturally use Lyla's Blend® as their evening
moisturiser on the face, neck and hands.
You can also adapt how you use it according to your skin and
your routine.
It doesn't have to be complicated.
Pause. Inhale. Apply.
Lyla's Blend® is versatile enough
to use wherever your skin needs extra nourishment.
Its most popular use is on the face,
neck and hands, particularly as an evening moisturiser, but it can also be
used on other areas of dry skin such as hands, elbows or other areas that need
a little more care.
Because it is concentrated, you
only need a small amount.
Absolutely.
Many customers tell me they particularly love Lyla's Blend®
as an evening moisturiser because of the ritual and aroma, but there is no rule
that says it belongs only at night.
Use it whenever your skin needs nourishment.
Yes.
Use a small amount and allow it a little time to
settle into the skin before applying makeup.
It can leave skin feeling nourished and soft, and some
customers particularly enjoy using a small amount as part of their morning
routine.
Yes.
This is one of the lovely things about having such a
concentrated product.
You can mix a small amount with your foundation when you
want a softer, more moisturised finish.
It's another way of adapting the product to what your skin
needs that day, rather than following a fixed skincare routine.
Yes.
Lylas Blend® doesn't ask you to
replace everything you already use.
It can be incorporated into an
existing routine according to what your skin needs.
If you're using several
products, apply your lighter water-based products first and use Lylas Blend®
towards the end of your routine.
The important thing is not to
overcomplicate it.
Start with less than you think you need.
Lyla's Blend® is concentrated, so a small amount can be
enough for the face and neck.
Warm it between your fingertips before applying.
If your skin needs more, you can always add a little.
The philosophy behind Lyla's Blend® is simple:
Use what you need, with intent.
03) LYLA'S BLEND® experience
The aroma comes from the naturally aromatic essential
oils in the formulation rather than synthetic fragrance.
I chose the aromatic profile very deliberately; including
frankincense, neroli, sandalwood and myrrh, because I wanted the product to be
experienced through more than just touch.
The aroma is part of the ritual.
Because I didn't want Lyla's
Blend® to be something you simply put on and forget.
The aroma is part of the
experience.
Before applying it, take a small
amount, bring your hands towards your face and take a slow, gentle breath of
the aroma.
Then apply it to your skin.
That tiny pause changes the
experience.
For a moment, there is nothing
to do.
You pause. You breathe. You
notice. Then you apply.
That is the heart of Lyla's
Blend® - creating a simple moment to come back to yourself.
This is something some customers have told me about their
experience, particularly when they use Lyla's Blend® as part of their evening
routine.
The formulation has a deliberately grounding, calming aromatic character, and the ritual itself encourages you to stop, breathe and slow down.
Scent is also closely connected with memory, emotion and our sensory experience.
I wouldn't promise that Lyla's Blend® will make you sleep - everyone's response is different.
But if your evening Lyla's Blend® ritual becomes a cue to slow down and transition into the evening, that is very much in keeping with why I created it.
No.
The inhalation is an invitation, not an instruction.
If you want to take the time to pause and enjoy the aroma,
do.
If you're rushing out the door and simply want to moisturise
your hands, that's fine too.
Lyla's Blend® is there to support your moment - not create another thing you have to do.
4) WHY LYLA'S BLEND® IS MADE THIS WAY
I chose to make Lyla's Blend® anhydrous, meaning it contains no added water, because I wanted a concentrated formulation built around the ingredients that actually serve a purpose in the product.
Water is a perfectly legitimate
ingredient in skincare. But a water-based cream also requires a particular
preservation and emulsion system.
I wanted to make something
different.
Less, but purposeful.
The result is a rich, concentrated blend of butters, oils, vitamin E and carefully selected aromatic
essential oils - with no added water.
Because I wanted a product where you don't need to use a large amount to enjoy it.
Lyla's Blend® is made from a concentrated blend of butters and oils, so a little goes a long way.
That also means the experience is about using the product intentionally rather than applying layer after layer.
The whipped texture makes a concentrated butter-based formulation easier and more pleasurable to work with.
It begins rich in the pot, then melts between your fingertips and spreads across the skin.
That change in texture is part of the experience.
I chose not to add an ingredient simply to make the product behave unnaturally in warm temperatures.
Lyla's Blend® is made from natural butters and oils, and those ingredients respond to temperature.
That means the texture can soften when it is warm and become firmer when it is cool.
For me, that is preferable to adding an ingredient purely to force the texture to remain exactly the same all year round.
5) TEXTURE, TEMPERATURE & WHAT TO EXPECT
Because it is a waterless butter-and-oil formulation.
Natural butters and oils respond to temperature, so Lylas Blend® can become softer in warm conditions and firmer when it is cooler.
This is particularly important during warm weather.
A change in texture due to temperature does not automatically mean the product has gone bad.
Lyla's Blend® is deliberately made without a heat stabiliser, so prolonged warmth can s often the formulation and, at higher temperatures, cause it to melt.
Keep it somewhere cool, dry and away from direct sunlight, ideally below 25°C.
Don't leave it somewhere that gets particularly hot, such
as a sunny windowsill, near a radiator or in a hot car (I made that mistake..)
Don't panic.
Warm temperatures can cause the natural butter and oil blend to soften or melt.
Allow the product to cool naturally and it will become firmer again.
The texture may not return to exactly the same whipped appearance it had originally, but a temperature-related change in texture does not by itself mean that the product has spoiled.
For the best texture, keep it somewhere cool and away from direct heat and sunlight. I live in Manchester. There is little chance of that here.
It can.
Because Lyla's Blend® is made from natural butters and oils without a heat stabiliser, you may notice that it feels firmer in cooler weather and softer in warmer weather.
I see this as part of the character of the formulation rather than something to disguise.
06) SKIN CONCERNS & RESPONSIBLE USE
Acne-prone skin is not one
single skin type, and people can respond differently to the same ingredients.
I therefore don't want to tell someone with acne-prone skin that they categorically cannot use Lyla's Blend® — but I also wouldn't describe it as an acne treatment.
Some people with acne-prone skin
prefer to use a small amount selectively on areas that feel dry or dehydrated,
rather than necessarily applying it all over.
As always, patch test first and listen to your skin.
Some customers choose to use a very small amount around the eye area. Some have specifically used it for the eye area.
Because the skin around the eyes is delicate, use a small amount and avoid getting the product into the eyes.
If you have particularly sensitive eyes or known sensitivities to any of the ingredients, patch test first and use your
judgement.
Yes.
Although many customers use it primarily on their face, neck and hands, Lyla's Blend® can also be used on areas of the body that need extra nourishment.
Hands, elbows, feet and other drier areas are natural places to use it.
Yes.
Lyla's Blend® is a concentrated leave-on formulation and contains naturally aromatic essential oils.
Before your first full application, apply a small amount to a discreet area of skin and observe how your skin responds.
This is particularly important if your skin is sensitive or reactive, or if you know you have sensitivities to fragrance or essential oils.
Lyla's Blend® contains no synthetic fragrance.
Its distinctive aroma comes from the naturally aromatic essential oils selected as part of the formulation.
The aroma isn't an afterthought - it is an intentional part of the Lyla's Blend® experience and the inhalation ritual.
7) Babies & children
Lyla's Blend® was formulated and CPSR safety-assessed for adults and children over 2, so I don't recommend applying it directly to babies or young children.
Some customers have told me that they choose to mix a very small amount with their child's usual moisturiser rather than applying Lyla's Blend® directly. I have used it both directly and mixed it with my babies usual moisturiser.
This is something customers have chosen to do; it is not an official dilution instruction or a recommendation for infant use.
If you're considering using Lyla's Blend® on, particularly a baby or a child with sensitive or compromised skin, please speak with an appropriate healthcare professional first
Just because its 100 percent natural, without PEG, parabens, pthalates, perfumes, petroleum etc, it doesn't mean its safe or appropriate for your child.
08) THE STORY BEHIND LYLAS BLEND®
I wanted to create something that made skincare feel like more than another task at the end of the day.
'Blend® grew from the idea that a few intentional moments, breathing, touching, noticing, can change how we experience our everyday routines. I wanted to gift a moment when you open the jar, inhale and say "aha."
For me, “With Intent” is about doing something consciously rather than simply moving through the motions.
It can be as simple as taking
one breath before you apply your skincare.
“Return to Self” is the overarching idea at the heart of Lyla's Blend® and my acupuncture practice.
Life can pull us in a hundred directions. Returning to yourself doesn't have to mean escaping from all of that.
Sometimes it is simply stopping
for a moment, breathing, noticing and reconnecting with yourself.
That is what I wanted the Lyla's Blend® experience to create.
Because I didn't want to create
something that asked you to do more.
I wanted to create something that gave you permission to pause.
The skincare is important. The ingredients are important. But the moment you create around them matters too.
Take the lid off.
Breathe.
Feel the texture.
Apply it slowly.
Come back to yourself.
